Ikat is an Indonesian word that literally translates as "to bind."
In this anicent weaving technique, threads of silk are intricately knotted to create areas of resistance, then hand-dyed. When they are unbound and carefully woven onto small handlooms, the pattern of the fabric appears.
This labor-intensive process results in unique home accessories that celebrate the beauty of hand-crafted artisanal design. Each is a work of art.
